Frequently Asked Questions

When can we pick stuff?

The picking is planned for mid May to mid July. We'll be picking a couple of days a week during that time. Picks are 3 hours long and are always in the morning. They are divided into one hour time slots so you can choose which spot works best for you.

Here's how it works: We take reservations for picking time slots, much like a restaurant. We do this to ensure we have an adequate amount of produce available, keep lines short, and to make sure you get ample time with us, your personal farmers.

Before every pick, we'll assess the amount of produce we have to ensure the how many pickers we can have out. YOU CANNOT BOOK MORE THAN A COUPLE OF DAYS IN ADVANCE BECAUSE WE WON'T KNOW HOW MUCH PRODUCE WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THEN AND THAT'S HOW WE DETERMINE HOW MANY SPOTS CAN BE AVAILABLE.

ADMISSION:

Admission is $5/person for everyone in your party, including babies under 1 AND non-pickers. You CANNOT book groups larger than 6 people. You must reserve your spot on the widget on the homepage of our website. YOU CANNOT COME TO THE FARM WITHOUT BOOKING IN ADVANCE.

How does it work when I arrive?

When you arrive you'll check in at the tent. There we'll tell you what's ready for picking and how to do it. Then we'll give you a basket to go have fun picking with. Once you're done, come on back to the tent and we'll weigh it all to total it up for you!

I got a picking spot but now can't come?

Please cancel your spots by using your confirmation email when signing up. To receive a refund, please cancel your spots before midnight the night before you pick.

Your admission fees will NOT be refunded if you no show, cancel after midnight the night before, or bring fewer people than you booked for to the farm.

We are RAIN OR SHINE! Be prepared to pick even in inclement weather. IAF will make the final decision to cancel due to extreme weather. In that case, you will be refunded your admission.

I can't get a booking?

The time slots for picking only open 2 days in advance. Make sure you book in that window. If it's in that window and there are no time slots available, chances are we're sold out! But keep checking back because somebody may have canceled and the spots become open!

Can I just come on by the farm when I want?

No! UNLESS IT IS A PICKING DAY, we will be closed! We don't permit walk ins. Outside of picking days, we will be busy taking care of all your produce so it can be ready for you!

How much are the veggies?

Carrots $4/lb, Eggplant $3.75/lb, Onions $2/lb, Ground Cherries $7/lb, Cucumbers $2.50/lb, Bell Peppers, $4/lb, Jalepenos $8/lb, Summer Squash $2/lb, Sunflowers $1-$2/ea, Cantaloupes $4/lb, Slicing Tomatoes $3/lb, Cherry Tomatoes $4/lb

Should I get there early to get the good pickin'?

There is no need to come early! Gates only open 15 minutes before the first picking time slot. Picking does not start until top of the hour of your time slot. Everyone will go in at the same time so there is no need to come early. However, the time slots are only 1 hour long so you will want to be here ON TIME to allow for the most of your picking slot. The farm will close 30 minutes after the end of the last time slot.

What will be ready for picking?

Mid May we'll be looking at things like carrots, onions, and squash. As we get into June, you'll see tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, peppers, cantaloupes, and more. Picking will close sometime in July. The chart on our homepage is a good tool to use to see what we're anticipating when.

THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES OF PRODUCE AVAILABLITY AND QUANTITY FROM DAY TO DAY, particularly for the last hour of the day. We do our best to target the amount of produce and pickers, we cannot always predict how much is picked before you arrive.

Are you cash only?

This is 2024...we are very much up with the times in taking credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and cash. Obviously cash is king but we accommodate other payment options.

What should I wear or bring?

A reusable bag or something to carry your produce home in. If you forget it, we'll have plastic bags on stock but we'd love to keep the plastic down. Feel free to bring us paper bags if you have them.

You'll want to wear a hat and sunscreen. Light, long sleeves, even in the summer, is best to keep the sun off of you. If it's rained the day before, boots are GREAT idea...it can get very muddy! Bug spray is also a good idea. MAKE SURE TO BRING PLENTY OF WATER. We will have water available for sale for $1 ea.

OMG! Will there be bugs?

YES! We grow every organically with no chemicals...the bugs live!!! Just keep vigilant and watch out for fire ants.

Can I bring my dog?

Nope! Dogs are not allowed due to food safety.

What if it rains?

We are RAIN OR SHINE! Be prepared to pick even in inclement weather. IAF will make the final decision to cancel due to extreme weather. In that case, you will be refunded your admission.
